Power beyond Our Own Capability

“Father in Heaven knew that you would face challenges and be required to make some decisions that would be beyond your own ability to decide correctly. In His plan of happiness, He included a provision for you to receive help with such challenges and decisions during your mortal life. That assistance will come to you through the Holy Ghost as spiritual guidance. It is a power, beyond your own capability, that a loving Heavenly Father wants you to use consistently for your peace and happiness.”
Richard G. Scott, “To Acquire Spiritual Guidance,” Ensign, Nov. 2009, 6

Christmas Dinner

Last night's dinner was a lot of fun and a lot of hard work. I wanted to take just a minute and thank all those that helped make it a success. First, the best presidency anyone could have: Janice, Brynn and Elise. Those that helped set up: Fred and Paula , Virgina and her daughter(sorry I don't know her name), Janice's sons (Kyle and Spencer), Barbara E. Those that helped clean up: Karen, Jen H. and many more. All the men who helped serve and everyone else that helped cook the meal, brought salads and desserts and came. Thank you for all your support and help you are all truly appreciated.

Even More Amazing

“Even more amazing than modern technology is our opportunity to access information directly from heaven, without hardware, software, or monthly service fees. It is one of the most marvelous gifts the Lord has offered to mortals. It is His generous invitation to ‘ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.’ ”
Russell M. Nelson, “Ask, Seek, Knock,” Ensign, Nov. 2009,

Love, the Center of Everything

"Because love is the great commandment, it ought to be at the center of all and everything we do in our own family, in our Church callings, and in our livelihood. Love is the healing balm that repairs rifts in personal and family relationships. It is the bond that unites families, communities, and nations. Love is the power that initiates friendship, tolerance, civility, and respect. It is the source that overcomes divisiveness and hate. Love is the fire that warms our lives with unparalleled joy and divine hope. Love should be our walk and our talk."
Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "The Love of God," Ensign, Nov. 2009, 21

Sister's Connection Dec. 6th

You Are Not to Be Fearful

“Everywhere present is the influence of Lucifer and his legion of angels. They tempt you to do those things and say those things and think those things that would destroy. Resist every impulse that will trouble your spirit. “You are not to be fearful. The Prophet Joseph Smith taught that ‘all beings who have bodies have power over those who have not.’ And Lehi taught that all ‘men are instructed sufficiently that they know good from evil.’ Remember, the prayerful power of your spirit will protect you.”
Boyd K. Packer, “Counsel to Young Men,” Ensign, May 2009, 51
