Book Club

I am excited about January's Book Club, we are reading "Remembering Isacc" by Ben Behunin. Yes they are related. The author is Bishop Behunin's brother. Lucky for us, the author has accepted the invitation to come and speak to us at the book club. It will be on Jan. 26th at my home (Denice's) at 7:00pm. I loved this book, it is written well with a good story that is full of fun characters and inspiring advice for everyday life. Put it on your calendar and come and enjoy the evening. Even if you have not read the book still come.

Service

"The Savior taught His disciples, 'For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it' (Luke 9:24)."I believe the Savior is telling us that unless we lose ourselves in service to others, there is little purpose to our own lives. Those who live only for themselves eventually shrivel up and figuratively lose their lives, while those who lose themselves in service to others grow and flourish—and in effect save their lives."

He Lives!

“Without God, life would end at the grave and our mortal experiences would have no purpose. Growth and progress would be temporary, accomplishment without value, challenges without meaning. There would be no ultimate right and wrong and no moral responsibility to care for one another as fellow children of God. Indeed, without God, there would be no mortal or eternal life.“If you or someone you love is seeking purpose in life or a deeper conviction of God’s presence in our lives, I offer, as a friend and as an Apostle, my witness. He lives!”

Prayer

"To access information from heaven, one must first have a firm faith and a deep desire. One needs to 'ask with a sincere heart [and] real intent, having faith in [Jesus] Christ' (Moroni 10:4). 'Real intent' means that one really intends to follow the divine direction given."
